This is an excellent chance to get new people involved with Farm Bureau! Select young farmers or those involved in agriculture from your county to attend the 50th Annual
Young Farmers Conference to be held in Columbia, Tennessee on July 19-20, 2019.
Highlights of the conference include mini workshops, great speakers, fun games, Collegiate
Discussion Meet, Young Farmer of the Year Achievement Award, and Environmental Stewardship Award. The Friday evening program will include video highlights of the farming operation of all participants in the achievement contest. This marks the 31st year CASE IH
has sponsored a tractor lease for the Achievement Award winner! And, we are proud to welcome, Kubota as the sponsor of a tractor lease for the second-place state winner! These are great incentives for active farmers to be involved. Click here for the 2019 summer conference agenda.
The Young Farmers Conference and the Young Farmer Achievement Contest serve to
identify young farmers and encourage involvement in Farm Bureau. Delegates should include your county young farmer applicants and Environmental Stewardship applicants along with their county extension agents, and any others, ages 18-35, who are interested in agriculture. With your help, every county will be represented at this conference.
The conference will be held at the Tennessee Farm Bureau Office in Columbia, TN. The office is located on Highway 412 (147 Bear Creek Pike) just off I-65 (Exit 46 Columbia/Chapel Hill.) TFBF will provide all meals during the conference. Contestants should dress professionally for competitions. Those not competing are welcome in business casual Friday, casual Saturday morning through afternoon, and business casual Saturday night. Childcare will be provided during meeting times. We will provide the attending counties with three hotel rooms. Additionally, TFBF will provide rooms for state committee members and the 1st & 2nd place state winners from 2018. If more than these rooms
are needed, the TFBF will invoice the county Farm Bureau for the additional rooms. The rates of the hotels will be between $115-139 plus tax. We encourage all YF&R members to attend.
The conference delegates will be housed at the Holiday Inn Express (1561 Halifax D
rive), Hampton Inn (1551 Halifax Drive), and Fairfield Inn & Suites (1545 Halifax Drive) in Columbia. The hotels are just off Exit 46-Columbia/Chapel Hill exit. Tennessee Farm Bureau will make all hotel reservations based on your conference registration through the county office. Please do not call the hotels directly.
If your county would like to contribute a door prize, please spend less than $25 in order to keep door prize items similar in value. Examples are gift cards, products from your county, homemade jellies, handmade items, or other products. Contributing door prize items is completely voluntary. We look forward to a great conference. Thank you for all you do to promote and advance Tennessee Farm Bureau.
