TN YF&R Summer Conference

PLEASE STAY HOME and avoid attending this year’s Summer Conference if you or anyone in your immediate household identify with even one of these statements: 

  • You have had close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 or a symptomatic person awaiting COVID-19 test results.
  • You are experiencing a cough, shortness of breath, or sore throat.
  • You have or have had a fever in the last 48 hours.
  • You have a new loss of taste or smell.
  • You have experienced vomiting or diarrhea in the last 48 hours.
  • You have received a positive COVID-19 test, are awaiting your own COVID-19 test results, or are experiencing other COVID-19 symptoms as designated by the CDC.
  • You have had close contact with someone awaiting COVID-19 test results.

***Neither child care nor children activities will be provided this year due to Covid-19. Parents will be responsible for their children at all times***

This is an excellent chance to get new people involved with Farm Bureau! Select young farmers or those involved in agriculture from your county to attend the annual Young Farmers Conference to be held in Columbia, Tennessee on July 17-18, 2020.

Meals:
TFBF will provide all meals during the conference.

Attire:
Contestants should dress professionally for competitions. Those not competing are welcome in business casual Friday, casual Saturday morning through afternoon and business casual Saturday night.

Childcare:
During to health and safety precaution as a result of COVID-19, childcare will be NOT be provided during meeting times this year.

Hotel Rooms:
We will provide attending counties with three hotel rooms. Additionally, TFBF will provide rooms for state committee members and the 1st & 2nd place state winners from 2019. If more than these rooms are needed, TFBF will invoice the county Farm Bureau for additional rooms. The rates of the hotels will be between $115-139 plus tax.

The conference delegates will be housed at the Holiday Inn Express (1561 Halifax Drive), Hampton Inn (1551 Halifax Drive), and Fairfield Inn & Suites (1545 Halifax Drive) in Columbia. The hotels are just off Exit 46-Columbia/Chapel Hill exit. Tennessee Farm Bureau will make all hotel reservations based on your conference registration through the county office. Please do not call the hotels directly.

Registration:
To register for the Young Farmers Conference, you must contact your county Farm Bureau office. If you need to cancel your reservation, please call Scarlett Copeland 24 hours in advance at (931) 388-7872, ext. 2216. Hotel reservations are canceled at 4:00 p.m. unless we are notified. If you need late arrival, please indicate on the registration site. If you have a room reservation for Friday night and do not show for that night, the hotel will automatically cancel your reservation for Saturday night and you will be charged for Friday night.

Door Prizes:
If your county would like to contribute a door prize, please spend less than $25 in order to keep door prize items similar in value. Examples are gift cards, products from your county, homemade jellies, handmade items, or other products. Contributing door prize items is completely voluntary.
