Senate Passage of U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement a Win for Tennessee Farmers

Columbia, TN. January 16, 2020 – The following may be attributed to Tennessee Farm Bureau President Jeff Aiken:

“We are extremely grateful for the U.S. Senate passage of USMCA. This will no doubt mean better trade relations with our closest partners and provide much needed market opportunities for agriculture. Trade with Canada and Mexico account for more than 300,000 jobs and $15 billion worth of exports in Tennessee. We look forward to how this agreement will not only secure those jobs and exports, but more than that, strengthen the agricultural economy.

We appreciate the confidence and support from Senator Lamar Alexander and Senator Marsha Blackburn for our state’s most economic industry and thank them for their vote in favor of this agreement.”
