You can now sign up for the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP) which provides direct relief to producers, including livestock and dairy, who have faced price declines and additional marketing costs due to COVID-19. Farmers should coordinate with their local USDA Farm Service Agency offices to sign up for CFAP. More information about how the program works and how to sign up can be found at www.farmers.gov/cfap.
CFAP uses funding and authorities provided in the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, the Families First Coronavirus Response (CARES) Act, and other USDA existing authorities. This $19 billion immediate relief program includes direct support to agricultural producers as well as the Farmers to Families Food Box Program.
