Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals Dicamba Decision

Columbia, Tenn. June 5, 2020 – The following statement can be attributed to Jeff Aiken, President of the Tennessee Farm Bureau Federation, on the recent Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals decision over dicamba products:

“The unexpected decision by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals to abruptly remove the nationwide registration, and therefore the legal use of certain dicamba products at the height of the growing season will cause tremendous consequences to Tennessee farmers who have already made purchasing decisions for this crop year. Data shows Tennessee farmers have overwhelmingly taken every precaution to protect their crops and their neighbors when using dicamba. The nation’s food production capacity is dependent upon the availability of affordable, effective production tools. Until further decisions are reached, we encourage EPA to quickly allow the continued use of already purchased dicamba products in the supply chain.”
