Tennessee Farm Bureau Insurance Director Jack Sanders Announces Retirement from the Board

Paris, Tenn. October 20, 2022 – Jack Sanders, Tennessee Farm Bureau Insurance District III director, announced today to Tennessee Farm Bureau Board of Directors his plan to retire from the board after 30 years of service effective November 30, 2022.

“Serving on the Farm Bureau board has been a great honor,” said Sanders. “This is a bittersweet decision, but the time comes when you know. My family has been involved for decades not only through the insurance services, but also with the agriculture organization which provides a strong voice for farmers, and we look forward to continue being involved.”

Sanders and his wife, Dianne, operate a beef cattle and row crop farm in Charleston, Tenn. in Bradley County. Their Farm Bureau involvement started with the Tennessee Young Farmers and Homemakers, today Tennessee Young Farmers & Ranchers. He has been on the Bradley County Farm Bureau Board of Directors for more than 39 years, serving 26 years as county president. He has been selected for numerous Farm Bureau committees throughout the years, but has also provided service on other agriculture committees including River Valley AgCredit and was active in Dairyman Incorporated when he was involved in the dairy business. The Sanders’ have two sons, Ben and Josh, and are active members of the Friendship Baptist Church.

“Jack has been a dedicated member of our insurance board and we are grateful for his service,” said Tennessee Farm Bureau President Eric Mayberry. “His service to the Tennessee Farm Bureau grassroots organization is profoundly appreciated, and we wish him and Dianne the very best as they devote their attention to grandchildren and other interests.”

In keeping with the organization’s by-laws, Kim Ballard of Franklin County was appointed by the board of directors to fill the unexpired term. Ballard, along with her husband, Jay, and two sons, raise beef cattle and hay in Franklin and Lincoln counties. Ballard is a longtime, loyal member of the Franklin County Farm Bureau Board of Directors and has served as president since 2016.
