Thank A Farmer

As we enter this season of thanks, do we ever really stop and think about thanking someone for the food on our tables? For the clothes we wear, the products we use on a daily basis to get through the week? United States farmers and ranchers are vital to our everyday existence and don’t expect much gratitude for all they do. They grow our vegetables, steaks, chicken, the cotton we wear, provide a habitat for wildlife we love to watch, and much more.

The Tennessee Farm Bureau Federation in partnership with Cowboy Dan, is inviting you to thank a farmer for their tireless dedication to the land, animals and environment. Won’t you join us in showing appreciation to all of our Tennessee farmers? Click here to thank a farmer and check back to see if your comment made the website. Below you will also find attachments to hear just what Cowboy Dan has to say about agriculture and how great our local farmers are.

From all of us at the Tennessee Farm Bureau Federation and Cowboy Dan, thank you!

Comments:

 - Thank you for all your hard work. As Miss America Teresa Scanlan said, "Not everyone farms, but everyone eats." I personally do not farm but I understand how hard you work everyday and the struggles you go through. Without people like you, America could not have the steady food supply it maintains today.
Once again, thank you. - Christy Chicas

- Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication in growing so many great
things for us to eat. You do such a wonderful job. - Bonnie Maynes

- Before each meal, my preschool son starts saying grace by putting his hands in the air and singing, "Open, shut them / Open, shut them / Give a little clap / Open, shut them / Open, shut them / Fold them in your lap," and then "God our Father, once again, we bow our heads to thank you, Amen." I thank God for abundance of the land, the animals, the farms and the farmers, and for all of their teams on those farms who put in the hard work that puts food on our family's table. - John Lamb

- I have never had to be hungry. That is due in part to our farmers, my family, and where I was raised. Whether your holiday feasts include ham, turkey, steak, sufganiyot or latkes, someone worked hard, without promise of payment to provide my family with a meal. For that I am truly grateful! Because of that, I care about the things that farmers care about. - Chris Fleming

- Growing up on a cattle farm, I learned first hand the importance of farming and locally grown food and textile crops.  We always had a HUGE garden to boot...so trips to "town" were rare.  I now have a young child, and am preparing to have the garden again...and hopefully chickens, too so I can teach her what I grew up with.  THANKS TO ALL FARMERS for your sacrifice, your hardwork, and the determination to keep doing it! - Christy

- Thank you for what you do! During the short time we were able to watch your program on our local Christian network, my children fell in love with it and your music.  Every day my daughter falls asleep listening to your music (Cowboy Dan), she and my son sing it throughout their day.  I am so pleased as a mother to hear my children singing songs that are teaching them good character as well as biblical values.  Please keep up the great work! Thank you! And thank you to the farmers who put uncountable hours in to raising crops that are good for nature and good for people to eat! Thank you! - Cassy

- Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication in suppling this great nation of ours the food that we place on our tables for our families. A special prayer should be said at these tables every day for you, our famers!  I know it is done in my house. Thanks again, and God bless you all and your families - Diane

- We are so blessed!  I am so thankful for the farmers that work hard everyday to provide our food and fiber.  Thanks to all the farmers & God bless you! - Rene'
