The Tennessee Farm Bureau’s Agriculture in the Classroom program hosts workshops each summer for educators. These workshops offer hands-on activities that are grounded in the subject areas of science, language arts and mathematics but can be used in an interdisciplinary format. While special emphasis is concentrated on kindergarten through eighth grade classes, materials are available for preschool and high school grade levels as well.

Funding for the workshop is provided by the Tennessee Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom, Tennessee Farm Bureau Federation, and Tennessee Department of Agriculture Ag Tag Grant. These funds are also available to provide supplies for teachers to hold an informal in-service training for other teachers.

Please note:

  • Each teacher should fill out a separate application when registering for this workshop. Please feel free to make copies of this application.
  • It is extremely important that you complete all of the information requested as all letters, agendas, maps, and other material will be shipped to your home address.

If you are interested in scheduling a workshop, please contact Chris Fleming, Associate Director of Agriculture in the Classroom at (931) 388-7872, ext. 2759 or call an AITC Educational Consultant in your area.
