Thank you for your interest in "Ag Literacy" enrichment materials provided through the Tennessee Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom. This program offers a variety of classroom supplemental curriculum materials for grades K-12. Also included is an application for our Outdoor Classroom Garden Grant.
You will notice that parts of these resources are available at cost and many are provided at no cost. All free materials (bulk) can be provided only through Teacher Inservice Workshops. Inservice is not a prerequisite for loaner or purchased materials, but "Ag Literacy Training" is still available for your school system. We have dowloadable activities available that go along with our new Agricultural Literacy Library.
All resources are interdisciplinary in nature as they teach math, science, language, social studies, etc., while using real life examples about agriculture. Details of "hands on" classroom activities and field trip opportunities are given in most of the resources.
And for those of you who participate in Farm Tours, we have grants available for you to utilize to offset some of your costs. Farm Grant Application. For a farm tour order form, click here.
It will be helpful to get your reaction to our resources. We look forward to hearing your comments either through your Ag in the Classroom Teacher Ambassador, farmer volunteer or your school system supervisor.
Thanks again for your interest in "Agricultural Literacy."

To register for our Summer University Workshops, download the application and brochure and return to us by May 15, 2009.
You may schedule a workshop for your school system by calling the Foundation at 931-388-7872 ext.2217 and ask for Teresa Ragsdale. Order all materials on the following order form. (Requires Acrobat Reader)
