Education & Resources
Tennessee Farm Bureau provides teachers with resources to help them educate their students about agriculture. Ag Literacy enrichment materials are provided through the Tennessee Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom. This program offers a variety of classroom supplemental curriculum materials for grades K-12. Also included is an application for our Outdoor Classroom Garden Grant. We have dowloadable activities available that go along with our new Agricultural Literacy Library.
All lesson plans are interdisciplinary in nature as they teach math, science, language, social studies, etc., while using real life examples about agriculture. Details of "hands on" classroom activities and field trip opportunities are given in most of the resources. Download our Teacher Resource Guide for a comprehensive list of materials.
Learn about our summer workshops and informal workshops. And for those of you who participate in Farm Tours, we have grants available for you to utilize to offset some of your costs. Download a Farm Grant Application or a Farm Tour Order Form.
It will be helpful to get your reaction to our resources. We look forward to hearing your comments either through your Ag in the Classroom Teacher Ambassador, farmer volunteer or your school system supervisor.
Thanks again for your interest in Agricultural Literacy.
