Libby Rushton has been named Tennessee Farm Bureau Federation regional field director for counties in the western portion of Tennessee announced TFBF Executive Vice President Bryan Wright.

Rushton’s role as a regional field director will be to serve as the Farm Bureau liaison for 12 counties – Benton, Carroll, Chester, Decatur, Hardeman, Hardin, Henderson, Houston, Humphreys, McNairy, Perry and Stewart.

“Libby has a strong passion for the agriculture industry and farmers across Tennessee,” said Wright. “We enjoyed having her as a part of the Farm Bureau family when she was an intern and look forward to the positive difference she will make in her 12 counties and beyond.”

Born and raised on her family’s row crop and cattle operation in Waverly, Rushton recently graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a degree in agricultural business and political science. While in college, she was involved in Collegiate Farm Bureau, the UTM Agribusiness Club and served on the National Junior Hereford Association Board of Directors. In 2022, she spent the summer as a TFBF intern in the public policy division. Rushton is also currently pursuing her master’s degree in strategic communications.

“I’m excited to have Libby join our field staff team,” said Melissa Bryant, director of field services. “She has always impressed me with her hard work ethic and energetic personality, and we are really looking forward to working with her.”

Rushton and her fiancé, Mike, are getting married in March and are excited to make their home in Benton County.
