Three Students Awarded the Abe Hatcher Memorial Young Farmer Scholarship

Columbia, Tenn. July 18, 2020 – Three students were awarded the Abe Hatcher Memorial Young Farmer Scholarship at the Tennessee Young Farmers and Rancher Summer Conference held at the headquarters of the Tennessee Farm Bureau in Columbia, Tenn. James Ozburn (left) of Marshall County attending the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, Chelsay Burns of Cocke County attending Tennessee Tech University and Tarrah Ivy (right) of Henderson County attending the University of Tennessee at Knoxville were all scholarship recipients.

The Abe Hatcher Memorial Young Farmer Scholarship is awarded to a college Sophomore, Junior or Senior student. The scholarship recipient must be a Tennessee Resident, an Agriculture or Music Major, a Young Farmer and Rancher member, a Farm Bureau Family member and possess leadership activities. Two scholarships are awarded annually at the Tennessee Young Farmers Conference Banquet. Each scholarship is for $1,500 for the 2020-2021 academic year.
